UPSC Indian Police Service (IPS) Limited Competitive Examination 2012
The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) will hold a Indian Police Service(IPS) Limited UPSC IPS Limited Competitive Examination is an exam for filling vacancies in the Indian Police Service (IPS) and being conducted for the first year in 2012.Competitive Examination will be head on 20 May 2012 for the purpose of filling vacancies in the Indian Police Service(IPS). The Examination will be held at the Centres are below..
Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Nagpur.
UPSC IPS 2012 Eligibility:-
Must be a citizen of India,Candidatesv have completed 05 years of continuous and actual service as Deputy Superintendent of Police in States under State Police Service or Assistant Commandants in Central Para Military Forces (Central Reserve Police Service, Border Security Force, Indo Tibet Border Police, Central Industrial Security Force and Sashastra Seema Bal) or Officers of the Rank of Captain or Major or equivalent in the Armed Forces. should have an unblemished service record.
Age Limit:- Maximum 35 years (as on 01-August-2012)
Examination Pattern:-
The Examination will comprise two components viz; Written Examination and Interview for Personality Test as given below.

Note:-
- Total Marks for Written Examination and Interview will be 1000 marks.
- Paper III is only qualifying in nature and the marks for Paper-III will not be counted for merit ranking.
- The objective type papers will be qualifying in nature for evaluating Descriptive Type Papers. However, marks obtained will be counted for merit ranking.
- In cases, where simultaneous evaluations of Papers III and IV/ V are resorted to for saving time, the Commission retains the discretion to treat the Papers IV and V of such candidates who do not attain the qualifying standards for Paper-III as deemed to be not evaluated.
Application Fees:-
Application Fee for General and OBC category candidates is Rs 50 either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash.
